About Bleach
 Bleach is a manga and anime TV series created by Tite Kubo. The story revolves around Ichigo Kurosaki, a 15-year-old orange haired high school junior who possess the ability to see and interact with spirits. On a faithful night, he became a substitute Shinigami after unwittingly absorbing the powers of Rukia Kuchiki, a female Shinigami assigned to patrol Karakura Town. After attaining the Shinigami powers which were transferred by Rukia, Ichigo’s life was brought into a series of breathtaking adventure. Ichigo learns about the true powers he possessed and later commits himself in protecting the ones close to him by battling opponents of increasing powers 

Ichigo Kurosaki is a 15-year-old orange haired high school junior forced to become a substitute Shinigami after attaining the Shinigami powers of Rukia Kuchiki, the Shinigami tasked to guard Karakura Town. On a faithful night, he became a substitute Shinigami after unwittingly absorbing the powers of Rukia Kuchiki, a female Shinigami assigned to patrol Karakura Town. The encounter with Rukia Kuchiki has brought his entire life into experiencing a different world and adventure. Upon absorbing the Shinigami powers from Rukia, Ichigo learns about the true powers he possessed and later commits himself in protecting people from evil spirits called Hollows, and eventually protecting those close to  him.

Rukia Kuchiki is the Shinigami who transferred her powers to Ichigo which triggers the very start of this entire series. She is a Shinigami of 13th Division under captain Ukitake Jyuushiro. A cool tempered and knowledgeable female warrior. The series started on a faithful night in Karakura Town when Ichigo’s house was assaulted by a Hollow. Rukia was severely injured whilst protecting Ichigo and offered to transfer her Shinigami powers to him. Since then, Rukia takes shelter in Ichigo’s house for recuperation and acts as a guide to Ichigo. 

Orihime Inoue is one of Ichigo’s classmates who has strong affiliations on him since the very start of the series. She was saved by Ichigo during an attack by a Hollow which turns out to be her brother who has passed away long ago. Orihime’s powers initially manifested during her contact with Ichigo and were further trained by Yoruichi in preparation to save Rukia from Soul Society. 

Uryu Ishida is inherited with the powers of Quincy. He has been trained since young by his grandfather, Soken Ishida. Uryu bears great hatred towards the Shinigami as their late arrival during an Hollow attack had caused the death of his grandfather. At the beginning of the series, Uryu has issued a challenged towards Ichigo to see who is more superior in eliminating Hollows, however, this lures an uninvited menos grande, which eventually forces both Ichigo and Uryu to fight alongside one another. 

Isshin Kurosaki is the father of Ichigo Kurosaki, who is the neighborhood doctor. He is a humorous father who cares a lot for Ichigo. On the outside, he doesn’t seem to know what his son is doing or experiencing. However, the fact is he is aware of every single stuff about the Shinigami event which is taking place to Ichigo. Isshin Kurosaki is a great Shinigami himself with powers as superior as a captain’s level. The reason he chosen to lead a normal life in karakura Town is because of his wife, Masaki Kurosaki. 

Ryuken Ishida is the father of Uryu Ishida, as well as the Director of Karakura Hospital. He is work-oriented man with a cold character. Ryuken feels that being a Quincy is meaningless as compared to having a proper living and reminded Uryu never to follow his grandfather’s footsteps. Ryuken displayed some powerful skills and techniques during his first combat appearance against the Arrancar. He also offers to help Uryu in restoring his lost Quincy powers on the condition that he will never be involve with the Shinigami again. 

Aizen Sosuke is the former Captain of the 5th Division and currently the ultimate antagonist of the series. In the beginning, Aizen’s appearance portrays him as a soft-spoken intellectual person who appears to be kind towards his subordinates; however, he is a ruthless mastermind of all evil in truth. He has declared that he is not bound by any morals and will resort to manipulating or killing anyone in order to achieve his goals. Aizen’s main objective is to attain the royal key and overthrow the king of Soul Society. 

Byakuya Kuchiki is the captain of the 6th Division as well as the 28th head of the noble Kuchiki clan. Byakuya is an extremely regimental person, who believes strongly in law and order. He is one of the strongest captain in Soul Society and had a great sense of arrogance due to his nobility and degree of power. He adopted Rukia as his younger sister to fulfill a last request by his wife who turns out to be Rukia’s older sister, Hisana. During his task to bring Rukia back to Soul Society, he stroke down Ichigo and leaving the badly wounded Icihgo in despair. 

Hitsugaya Toshiro is the Captain of the 10th Division and known as the youngest Captain in Soul Society. His distinct characteristic is his white hair and emerald eyes, which evokes his powers of controlling ice. Despite his young age, Hitsugaya portrays a mature and serious image. Hitsugaya’s hidden spiritual powers were discovered by Rangiku Matsumoto. He has been convinced by Rangiku to become a Shinigami in order to control his powers before he cause danger to anyone. After entering the Shinigami academy, Hitsugaya’s natural talent has made him the Captain of the 10th Division. 

Kenpachi Zaraki is the captain of the 11th Division. A strong, fierce, ruthless and fearless warrior. Kenpachi fights for his own pleasure, and his only enjoyment is combating with strong opponents. His spirit power is so enormously strong that he requires a special eye patch to absorb his spirit force in order to control it. Although he has yet to discover his sword’s name, his powers are superior enough to even defeat Captain Sajin and Tousen during the Soul Society Arc. 

Shunsui Kyoraku is the Captain of the 8th Division as well as the second son of the high-ranking noble Kyoraku family. He is a laid back and flamboyant man who enjoys drinking sake and napping during off time. He is always seen sweet taking his lieutenant, Nanao Ise, whom he calls Nanao-chan. Captain Shunsui is considered one of the oldest captains in the Gotei 13, along with Captain Ukitake and Captain Retsu. Being recorgnised by General Yamamoto, Captain Shunsui is known to be one of the strongest captain in Soul Society.. 

Retsu Unohana is the captain of the 4th Division which specializes in medications. She is seen to be a soft-spoken and caring woman. She always portrays an extremely calm appearance during all sorts of situations. She has been known to be one of the most senior captains in Soul Society as she has been greeted by both Captain Kyouraku and Ukitake as “Senpai”. 

Jushiro Ukitake is the captain of the 13th Division. He has a sickly looking appearance with long white hair. Despite his illness, Captain Jushiro is known to be a powerful fighter. He is one of the pioneers of Yamamoto’s academy and was personally trained by Yamamoto himself. Captain Jushiro is a highly respected character for his loyalty, honesty and personal sense of justice. 

Soifon is the captain of the 2nd Division and the head of the Special Forces in Soul Society. She is loyal, believes in following orders and takes a strong moral stand. Long ago, Soifon was taken in by Yoruichi as a guard and Yoruichi became her mentor as well as a close friend. Soifon’s initial techniques were first imparted by Yoruichi. After Yoruichi left Soul Society, Soifon succeeded her as head of the Special Forces, and soon became the captain of the 2nd Division. 

Sajin Komamura is the captain of the 7th Division. He wears a huge helmet to hide his true appearance. However, after his battle with Captain Kenpachi Zaraki who destroyed his helmet, Captain Sajin has found himself the confidence to live without hiding his identity. Having a close friendship with Captain Tosen Kaname, Sajin was utterly disappointed when the latter who chooses the path of the dark side. 

Mayuri Kurotsuchi is the Captain of the 12th Division which specializes in research and biological technologies. He portrays an image of a mad scientist with a sadistic and cruel personality. Before Mayuri became a Captain, he was a prisoner under Urahara’s watch in a high-security facility known as the “Maggots’ Nest”. Mayuri was offered by Urahara, Captain of the 12th Division at that point of time, to be run a research institute as the vice president. Eventually, Mayuri succeeded Urahara in establishing the Research Institute and became the captain of the 12th Division. 

Yamamoto Shigekuni is the leader of the 1st Division and the Gotei 13. The scars on his torso and head portrays that he has experienced numerous battles in his past. General Yamamoto was the founder for the Soul Reaper academy since 2000 years prior to the main Bleach storyline. He is a highly respected leader who believes in law and order.

Gin Ichimaru is the former captain of the 3rd Division in Soul Society, however, he has chosen to betray Soul Society to join Aizen in Hueco Mundo. Gin has a distinguishing smile on his face which tend to portray a opposite effect to whoever he meets. It is known that Gin has an unusual relationship with Matsumoto Rangiku as they have met many years before they became Shinigami. Gin is seen with a vast degree of speed during his battle with Captain Toshiro. His Zanpakuto is known as the Divine Spear (Shinso) which has the ability to stretch itself, piercing towards his opponent from a great distance. 

Tosen Kaname is the former Captain of the 9th Division in Soul Society, however, he has left Soul Society as a betrayer for Hueco Mundo. Tosen’s choice of path follows his philosophy of taking the path with the least bloodshed. Tosen’s philosophy is inspired from a special woman who believes in maintaining a peaceful world. The woman was killed by her husband for reprimanding him for killing a comrade over a trivial argument. Upon the women’s death, Tosen took over her Zanpakuto and vowed that he would fight for justice without unnecessary bloodshed. However, the path he has chosen seems otherwise.
